Payments, delivery and refunds

ViewStage sells the video. A brand buys it from ViewStage, and the creator makes it as ViewStage's subcontractor. This page says how you pay, when the video is due, and where your money goes when the video doesn't arrive.

What you pay

An order is the creator's rate plus a 5% service fee.1 ViewStage collects it one of two ways, and you pick which in Billing:

  • Card on file. ViewStage charges the saved card in US dollars as an advance payment the moment the deal is agreed. Every order shows its price and its delivery date before anyone can agree to it, and ViewStage emails a receipt for every charge. When you accept an application or a counter-offer yourself, you confirm the payment at the time with the card's security code.
  • Bank-transfer invoice. ViewStage issues an invoice for the same amount when the deal is agreed, due within 7 days. You pay it by wire or ACH to the account printed on it, or start an ACH debit from the invoice page.

Same 5% service fee either way. Paying by card costs you nothing extra, and ViewStage pays its own payment-processing costs out of the fee.1 Work on a deal starts once ViewStage has the payment, so a video is always paid for before anyone films.

When your video is due

Every order carries a delivery date, set before you agree to it and shown on the offer, the order and the receipt. The creator delivers by that date, an AI review screens the video, and then you have 10 days to approve it or ask for changes.2 Until the creator delivers, you can ask ViewStage to move the delivery date later. It never moves earlier.

Cancelling, and when that right ends

Until the creator delivers, you can cancel an order and get a full refund. Cancellation for a full refund ends when the video is delivered, because from then on you are reviewing finished work rather than waiting for it.3 An invoice you never paid is cancelled instead, and there is nothing to refund.

ViewStage also cancels and refunds you in full, on its own, when:

  • the video is still undelivered a week after the delivery date on the order;
  • you reject the delivered video inside your 10-day review window;
  • the video never clears the AI review within the allowed revision rounds, so ViewStage has nothing to sell you.2

No problem with the creator's payout ever cancels your order or refunds you. Once ViewStage accepts a video, your payment and your usage rights stand, and ViewStage owes the creator whether or not their payout setup is finished.4

Where a refund goes

A card payment goes back to the card ViewStage charged for up to 110 days after the charge; your receipt names the last date.5 After that date, or where the card can't take a credit, ViewStage sends the refund by bank transfer to the refund account you give in Billing. A payment made by bank transfer is always refunded by bank transfer, after ViewStage reviews it. Your bank decides when the credit lands on your statement, and ViewStage makes no promise about its timing.

If your card is declined

ViewStage emails you what happened, does not retry that payment, and gives you at least 7 days to pay another way: the card page, or the bank-transfer invoice for the same order.6 The deal closes if nothing arrives by then, and you owe nothing. Your saved card stays on file for later orders unless your bank told ViewStage to stop using it, in which case add another card in Billing.

UGC plans

A UGC plan starts with a 7-day trial that needs no payment method and never converts on its own. Once you start the plan, ViewStage charges your card or invoices you each period, and emails you at least 10 days before each card renewal with the amount and the date.7 You can cancel online in Studio at any time, effective at the end of the period you have paid for. Plan fees are not refundable. A plan payment still unpaid 21 days after its due date cancels the plan.7

Each UGC cycle is settled separately: ViewStage charges your card, or invoices you with 7 days to pay, for the videos it delivered and you approved, at the creators' listed pay with no fee added.8

The binding version of all of this is in Sections 9, 10 and 11 of the Terms of Service, and Sections U8 and U11 of the UGC Marketplace Terms. Email us and a person reads it.

  1. 1The service fee is PLATFORM_FEE_BPS = 500, 5%, the same on a card charge and on an invoice (apps/payments-service/src/lib/platform-fee.ts). ViewStage pays the creator 95% of the rate, so about 10% of the rate in total, printed on the receipt both sides read.
  2. 2The brand's review window is REVIEW_WINDOW_DAYS = 10, counted from the AI review's verdict, and a deal runs at most MAX_AI_REVISION_ROUNDS = 3 review rounds with REVISION_WINDOW_DAYS = 7 to send each revision (apps/core-api/src/env.ts). ViewStage's own cancel for a late video runs at DEAL_DELIVERY_AUTO_CANCEL_DAYS = 7 past the delivery date. The date stops moving once the creator delivers, and a later date is capped at DEAL_DELIVERY_MAX_DAYS_FROM_PAYMENT = 75 days after the payment.
  3. 3Terms Section 9.3 and 11.1. ViewStage is selling a video made to your brief, so the cancellation right runs until delivery rather than for a fixed number of days after purchase.
  4. 4A payout with no destination, one under the rail's minimum, or one a creator's bank sent back parks for a ViewStage operator and refunds nobody (apps/payments-service/src/lib/payout-park.ts).
  5. 5PAYIN_CARD_REFUND_WINDOW_DAYS = 110 (apps/payments-service/src/env.ts). Card networks stop accepting a refund against an old charge, so ViewStage switches rails rather than leaving the money with itself.
  6. 6PAYIN_CARD_FALLBACK_MIN_DAYS = 7, the floor on the new due date ViewStage sets after a declined card (apps/payments-service/src/env.ts).
  7. 7SUBSCRIPTION_CARD_RENEWAL_NOTICE_DAYS = 10, and SUBSCRIPTION_GRACE_DAYS = 7 plus SUBSCRIPTION_DUNNING_DAYS = 14 = 21 days before an unpaid plan is cancelled (apps/payments-service/src/env.ts).
  8. 8PAYIN_UGC_NET_DAYS = 7 (apps/payments-service/src/env.ts). computeUgcFeeBreakdown adds nothing to a settlement: ViewStage charges the brand the creators' listed pay and passes all of it on.
